Handstamps, 1942-1945, loose in a box, with various boxed and oval O.A.T. handstamps, paying primarily 30c and 40c rates (note a few 10c rates with solo frankings), primarily to Switzerland, Sweden, and France, along with Norway and Iceland. The covers are franked with 1938 Pictorial and War issues, noting blackout and machine cancel types, along with a variety of censor tapes and handstamps. We note some duplication of rates and destinations, online photos show an overview. Overall fine to very fine. Estimate C$150, sold for C$550.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Franked with 10c rose carmine, tied by two c.d.s. cancels, paying the 5c UPU letter rate plus 5c registration fee. Scarce solo use of the 10c value, minor edge tears, very fine. Ex Daniel Cantor. Ten months later (FEB.8.1909) it was remailed from Stauffer, Alberta (franked with a 1c and two 2c Québec Tercentenary issues) through Innisfail (FEB.10 transit) to Ponts de Martel (arrived there FEB.23). A well travelled and colourful cover, with wrinkles and other small faults, else fine. An ideal cover for a Québec Tercentenary collection. Estimate C$150.
