Lot 991 — 1899-1901 Zanzibar bin-Said set, sold for $403

Lot 991 high value

Lot 991
Lot 991 Zanzibar #62-78 1899-1901 ½a to 5R Sultan bin-Said, set of 15 with fresh, deep colours. The entire set is never hinged, a few with light gum creases but most with immaculate gum. The most prominent gum crease does not show any crease in the papers fiber in fluid, the 5R has a light smudge of gray brown printer’s ink on the back which in our opinion adds character. A fine-very fine set, not commonly found never hinged. Scott CV$326, sold for $350 plus buyer’s premium.
