Franked with a 10d blue Cartier imperforate, with strong re-entry from position 53, with close to large margins, just touching at bottom left and showing next stamp at top. This is an unusual franking, as the single weight rate would have been 6d. A lovely and rare cover, and accompanied by a 1981 Greene Foundation certificate. Ex. Daniel Cantor collection. This stamp previously sold for US$1,955 at a 2011 Matthew Bennett auction (Daniel Cantor Sale). Insignificant tear in bottom margin, still an extremely fine and fresh stamp and worthy of the finest collections. Accompanied by a 2013 Greene Foundation certificate. Unitrade CV $1,600, sold for $1,350 plus buyer’s premium.
