Lot 1135, Canada 1863 twelve and a half cent green Victoria on folded cover Toronto to Glasgow, carried on Allan LineLot 1135 Canada #18 12½c yellow green Queen Victoria on Folded Cover, mailed from Toronto on DEC.3.1863 (broken circle free strike) to Glasgow, Scotland, with Glasgow Packet Paid receiver dated DEC.20, having been carried on the Allan Line America. The stamp has lovely bright colour and is tied by a Toronto square grid to this blue folded cover. A pristine example of the 12½c Canadian packet rate, extremely fine. Estimate C$300.

Lot 372, Canada 1899 advertising cover, Map Stamp registered special delivery, sold for C$1438Lot 372 1899 Registered Special Delivery Cover, being a Walker House illustrated advertising cover mailed from Toronto to Bridgeton NJ on JAN.16.1899, through Boston (JAN.18 transit on back). Franked with a block of four of the 2c Map (these overpaying the 2c + 5c registration rate by 1c), plus a green 10c Special Delivery. Special delivery to the US had to be prepaid with a US SD stamp or 10c worth of regular US postage stamps in order to obtain the service, and in this case the Canadian 10c would pay only for Canadian service. Accompanied by a 1989 Greene Foundation certificate, Very Fine. From the Robert Lunn Map Stamp Collection. Estimate $750, sold for C$1,250.00 plus 15% buyer’s premium.

Lot 1390, 1900 Very Fine Boer War cover from Thaba Nchu to Barrie Ontario, then Toronto1900 Boer War Cover, mailed from Thaba Nchu (O.V.S.) on SEP.7.1900 and franked with a 2½d stamp, then received a purple Canadian Contingent / South Africa datestamp on SEP.17.1900, then presumably went through GB before it arrived at its destination of Barrie, Ontario on OCT.15 (receiver on back). The next day it was forwarded to Toronto where it was received (on back) on OCT.16. A lovely Second Canadian Contingent cover, which are not commonly seen franked as such, very fine. Estimate C$500.
