Lot 17 Canada #4 Collection of eight 3d Beaver Imperforates with Legible 4-ring Numeral Cancels, includes #s 39 (St Johns, RF 9, tough to find on Pence issues), 50 (Windsor, RF 6), 12 (Dundas, RF 9 faint strike), 15 (Guelph, RF 6, extremely fine strike but stamp has a thin), 21 (Montréal, RF 1, corner crease), 31 (Picton (RF 7, very fine strike), 10 (Cobourg, RF 7, faint strike) and 11 (Cornwall, RF 7, rare and usually faint). The stamps typically have three to four margins and are sound, except for those faults mentioned above. Estimate $400, sold for C$1,200.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 643 Group of three 4-Ring Numeral Cancels on 3d Red Beaver Imperforate Covers, #29 on a lovely and very fine cover from Perth (no despatch) to Prescott (JUN.7.1858 receiver) through Brockville JUN.6 transit) with a 4-margin stamp. Also two #21 from Montréal, APR.8.1858 to Ste Thérese de Blainville C.E with a soft ribbed Beaver with almost no margins, signed Holcombe and an undated and uncancelled cover to Montréal (drop cover) with a jumbo-margined 3d Beaver. Lot 22 Canada #4i 1852 3d Deep Red Beaver Imperforate, a used horizontal pair with 4-ring #5 (Brantford) cancels in blue. Margins range from well clear top and bottom, to just touching at both sides, fine. A great item for plating, as the impression is crisp and clear. Lot 12 Canada #4d 3d Red Beaver Imperforate on Cover, mailed from Québec City on SEP.3.1855 to “Hon’ble L.J. Papineau / Monte Bello / Petite Nation” with Monte Bello SEP.5 receiver and Montréal SEP.4 transits on back. This lovely blue cover is franked with a 3d Beaver imperforate, apparently from plate position B53 and on thin paper. Louis Joseph Papineau was a very well known politician. Very fine, from The Outaouais Collection, ex. “Yule” and Daniel Cantor (2011) collections. Unitrade CV$300, sold for C$300.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
