Lot 1234 Canada #75 Lovely Colour Illustrated 1899 Private Post Card, from the Dominion Radiator Company in Toronto, in bright silver, red and blue, depicting a sailing mast with flags spelling the word “SAFFORD”. Back illustrates the “Safford Florence” ornate radiator and lists the company’s services, etc in blue and red. Franked with a 1c QV Numeral tied by an RPO cancel, Port Hope squared circle receiver on message side. A stunning card, very fine and rare. Estimate $300.

Lot 1235 Canada #75 1898 Colour Illustrated Private Post Card, from the Royal Kennebecassis Yacht Club in St John, NB, illustrated by a their logo, a 3 colour flag. Franked with a 1c QV Numeral tied by a squared circle cancel. Message side is preprinted and announces an upcoming meeting (mailed on the same day as the meeting!). This Yacht Club still exists, and their website says “since 1898” so this is an early card from them. Lovely and very fine. Estimate $100.
Lot 247 — 1900 twenty cent olive green Numeral imperf pair, used
Lot 247 Canada #84a 1900 20c olive green Queen Victoria Imperforate Horizontal Pair, used, with part blue c.d.s. cancel on right stamp. Accompanied by a photocopy of the plate block of four plus this pair which were cancelled by the same large blue c.d.s. cancel, as well as a Richard Gratton AIEP certificate. Only one sheet of 100 was issued, which was badly mishandled, resulting in creases in all but 9 stamps, including this pair. Rare and very fine, unpriced in Unitrade but worth at least as much as a mint pair. Estimate $6,000.

Lot 143 Canada #85 1898 2c Map Stamp on piece dated second day of use, along with a 5c Leaf and an 8c Numeral, each tied by a Peterboro cds dated DEC.8.1898. This likely paid the pre-Imperial Penny Post 15c UPU rate, or a double UPU plus registration. Interesting and very fine. Estimate $100, sold for $95 plus buyer’s premium.
