The strip has been separated in the middle, and sensibly hinge reinforced, and because the right selvedge was once folded onto the gum, the rightmost stamp has gum disturbance, leaving 7 never hinged stamps. Catalogued as overall fine. Unitrade CV $382, sold for C$325.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 652, Canada 1899 twelve cent "AR" registered cover Montreal to New OrleansLot 652 Canada #76, 79 1899 12c “AR” Registered Cover to New Orleans, mailed Montreal (squared circle precursor AUG.9.1899) to New Orleans Louisiana (AUG.13 receiver on front), franked with two 5c plus a 2c purple Numerals (paying 2c postage, 5c registration and 5c “avis de réception” or acknowledgement of receipt), stamps are tied by oval Rs and there is a rare free strike of an “AR” in circle. Stamps have faults and cover with small tears and light stains, still a rare and early AR cover. Ex. Liptak collection. Estimate C$300.
