There is a small toning spot at bottom, still a scarce stamp this nice and very fine. From the Louis Sidney Crosby Collection of Prince Edward Island. Lot 326, Great Britain 1841 two pence blue used strip of three, watermark small crown, sold for $196Lot 326 Great Britain #4 1841 2d blue Queen Victoria on bluish Paper, Imperforate, Watermark Small Crown, lovely used strip of three, with light 1844 type grid cancels, with large margins along the whole length of the top and bottom, plus showing a large part of both adjoining stamps at right and left. The owner has identified it as plate 3 (unverified by us) and with the “square footed J” variety. Deep, rich colour and extremely fine. S.G. #14, £255. Lot 547, Canada two-ring #4 Halifax postmark on cover, lot sold for $316Lot 547 Canada 2-Ring #4 Postmarks, Halifax on cover and stamps, an unsealed cover (with very fine S. Howard & Son, Halifax embossing on backflap) is franked with a 1c yellow orange Large Queen, just tied by a fine strike of the 2-ring 4/ Addressed to Annapolis Town, with “circular” written in red and accompanied by a 2000 letter from Parks Canada explaining who the addressee was, and dating the cover between 1868-1872. Also a 2c green LQ, two 3c LQs (both faulty) and a 1c orange Small Queen, each with fine strikes. Estimate $100, sold for C$275 plus buyer’s premium.

Ex-Lot 591, Canada two-ring locally made obliterator #57 ParisLot 591 2-Ring #57-Paris, stamp and cover, a 3c Large Queen has a very fine strike of what appears to be a locally made obliterator, possibly made to replace a broken official instrument. Also a yellow 3c SQ cover mailed MAR.9.1871 to Woodstock. (Woodstock and Paris Station backstamps.) The obliterator is faint, but can be substantiated by the Paris datestamp. Lot 360 Great Britain #O10 1885 brown violet £1 Queen Victoria, Overprinted “I. R. OFFICIAL”, unused (no gum) and well centered. Accompanied by a 2016 P.T.S. Expertizing (Surrey, GB) certificate stating “thin at bottom left, diagonal crease on letter “F” top right corner, stained and soiled”. Two small ownership handstamps on back. Still, we qualify these faults as minor, as the stamp has a very fine appearance and would look great even in the best collections. A desirable major world rarity. S.G. #O11 £75,000.
