Lot 22 Canada #5b 1855 6d greenish grey Consort Imperforate, unused (no gum) with large margins, fresh colour and very fine. Accompanied by a 1982 R.P.S. (London) certificate stating “stained” which is actually an almost imperceptible hinge mark on back. A rare unused stamp, especially in this condition, with likely fewer than a dozen unused examples known. Ex. “Montclair” collection. Unitrade CV C$35,000.

Lot 360 Great Britain #O10 1885 brown violet £1 Queen Victoria, Overprinted “I. R. OFFICIAL”, unused (no gum) and well centered. Accompanied by a 2016 P.T.S. Expertizing (Surrey, GB) certificate stating “thin at bottom left, diagonal crease on letter “F” top right corner, stained and soiled”. Two small ownership handstamps on back. Still, we qualify these faults as minor, as the stamp has a very fine appearance and would look great even in the best collections. A desirable major world rarity. S.G. #O11 £75,000. Deep embossing and two vertical silk threads through each stamp. Accompanied by a 2017 BPA certificate stating “creases and small split at top of stamp 2, small natural exclusion at foot”.
