Lot 457 British East Africa #57b 1895 2a ultramarine Queen Victoria, Overprinted “Br1tish East Africa” in Black, unused (no gum), very fine. Accompanied by a detailed 2006 Sergio Sismondo certificate that explains that this is the discovery example of a very late stage of this overprint, labeled by him as “Stage 4.” A striking variety, the discovery copy, very rare.
