Lot 1145 Canada 1930 R100 Airship Cover Flown from Montreal to Cardington, England. This cover was carried on board the air ship at Montreal by J. Fergus Grant, who was a reporter travelling on the air ship return flight for the Montreal Gazette. The cover is signed by Grant and has a St Hubert AUG.13.1930 datestamp. A few small tone spots at bottom left, still very fine and rare. No backstamps as it was carried out of the mails. It is estimated that fewer than 50 covers were flown, with many to officials, either in Canada or the UK. Offered on a fully written-up exhibit page. Estimate C$1,500.

1186 Canada #CL13e 1926 Patricia Airways Cover with “FED” Signature on CL13 stamp in red. A Patricia Airways corner card cover flown from Toronto to Red Lake on DEC.18.1926. Back of cover shows a map of the flight path and is franked with a CL13, tied by Red Lake postmark dated DEC.20. The red FED signature on the stamp is from F.E. Davidson, the company’s financier. Lot 761 Newfoundland #53 1880 5c pale blue Harp Seal, mint with full original gum, never hinged. A fresh and very fine stamp, with bright colour and crisp impression, with blind perf hole at left, accompanied by a 2009 Greene Foundation certificate.
