An early Canada stamp which is seldom seen in this NH condition.

Auction #14 Print Catalogues Have Been Mailed

Today we received delivery of the print catalogues and they were out the door and at the post office within the hour. Customers in the Ottawa area will likely receive theirs this week, as well as much of Ontario. The rest of Canada could expect a catalogue the week of March 24-28, and other destinations will see them the last week in March.

Please let us know if you were expecting a catalogue in the mail and did not receive it in the time frame mentioned above.

Catalogue PDFs can be seen here on our website. The complete Viewing and Auction Schedule is also listed. We have a few corrections and clarifications already as well.

Tomorrow, we begin to highlight some of the more interesting items in this sale.

Sale #14 to take place April 8-10th, 2014

We are pleased to announce our Sale #14, to be held in Ottawa on April 8-10th, 2014. Collectors of all levels will find something of interest in this sale. This auction introduces to the stamp collecting community a handful of items not previously known as well as a great many rarities up to and including traditional world-class expensive classics. Every auction our consignors trust us to sell an increasing number of their valuable items. In this auction, a total of 105 consignors have laid out a veritable “candy store” of temptation.

One area that is expanding rapidly is postal history and postmarks. This auction our offerings, especially in Canada and BNA, offer an amazing variety of single and larger lots.

A fair number of the items to be offered have been in collections for decades and sometimes are offered for the first time from a correspondence not previously cherished by a stamp collector. The task of viewing these lots will certainly be challenging for our customers who try to view everything.

In Canada we start with one of the rarest Canadian stamps, an unused number one, and it does not go downhill from there. A very fine and never hinged half-penny stamp did not even make it to the front cover of the catalogue. After the auction the winning bidder will be pleased to have a top quality mint pence stamp on page one of his or her album. Top quality continues from the earliest to the latest in Canada. Then, as can be seen on the front cover, B.N.A. has some eye-popping
rarities.

Our popular Lots and Collections section has fewer lots than previously but the overall variety and value are comparable to previous auctions. Those who view will find that the median quality of the lots as well as the individual stamps has improved from previous auctions.

We always like mentioning literature and this auction offers hundreds of works not seen in prior auctions. A goodly number of these have been combined in carton lots and will prove interesting to collectors looking for new interests (they may also prove to be a bargain).

Our Worldwide section offers more lots than usual, as well as some strong USA. This and our British Commonwealth (check out the Rhodesia) round out a strong and diverse auction.

The auction is now online at Stamp Auction Network.

PDFs of the catalogue, instructions for bidding, and other additional material will be posted here on our site beginning Monday, March 17th. Print catalogues will be sent out next week to subscribers.

We invite you to participate!
