Lot 1471, two vintage Canadian Hockey Team real photo postcards
Lot 1471 Two Vintage Hockey Team Real Photo Postcards, both showing teams outdoors, one team is wearing outdoor clothing and the other is wearing a three-leaf clover emblem on a white shirt (this card has a tear). While our extensive research did not give us any information as to who these teams were, the two cards came out of the same collection as the other two similar lots we offer in this sale, and we are convinced they are Canadian teams (and not from Arizona or Florida, for example). Estimate C$150.
Lot 116, Canada 1872-73 two cent deep green Small Queen, first Ottawa Printing, XF NH
Lot 116 Canada #36 early 1872-73 2c Deep Green Small Queen, Perforated 11.85, First Ottawa Printing, mint with full pristine original gum, never hinged, well centered amongst four large margins with “Post Office” fresh colour, extremely fine. An exceptionally rare stamp in this condition, as very few 2c stamps were printed during the First Ottawa printing period (limited to 1872-73 for the 2c value). Despite not having its own Unitrade number, this stamp is highly sought after by connoisseurs, and this may well be the finest example known, as we do not recall seeing a premium never hinged example of this stamp having been offered anywhere. Estimate C$500.
