Lot 659, Canada 1927 Patricia Airways “style two,” VF hinged
Lot 659 Canada #CL22c 1927 Patricia Airways “Style Two” with 10c Ascending Type A Overprint in Red and Inverted Descending Type D Overprint in Black, mint hinged, fresh and very fine. A very rare stamp, the first we have handled and in our opinion the catalogue value does not reflect its rarity, especially as compared to the regular CL22. Unitrade CV$2,500.
Lot 897, Mauritius 1859 two pence blue Queen Victoria on bluish paper, Early Printing forgery
Lot 897 Mauritius #14BF 1859 2d Blue Queen Victoria Imperforate on Bluish Paper, Early Printing Forgery, “used” with light cancel and four large and even margins, with a minute hinge thin, else very fine and scarce. This forgery is attributed to Spiro, and in our opinion, it makes for a much nicer stamp than the $3,000 original. Estimate C$100.
