Lot 897 Mauritius #14BF 1859 2d Blue Queen Victoria Imperforate on Bluish Paper, Early Printing Forgery, “used” with light cancel and four large and even margins, with a minute hinge thin, else very fine and scarce. This forgery is attributed to Spiro, and in our opinion, it makes for a much nicer stamp than the $3,000 original. Estimate C$100.

Lot 836 Nova Scotia #2 1857 3d Blue Heraldic Imperforate, a mint block of four, with full original hinged gum. A remarkable, and very rare block, with bright, fresh colour and large margins. The block shows a tiny scissor cut in the margin between two stamps and has light creases in the margins, still very fine and desirable. Ex. This was made from the original dies from which the two stamps were printed Only a small number were printed before the dies were defaced. A rare opportunity to own die proof impressions of two of the rarest and most expensive stamps ever issued. Very fine. Estimate $1,000, realized $1250.00.
