Lot 1063, Canada Extensive Collection of Squared Circle postmarks in Elbe album, sold for C$7,254

Lot 1063, Canada Extensive Collection of Squared Circle postmarks in Elbe album, sold for C$7,254Lot 1063 Canada Extensive Collection of Squared Circle Postmarks, all very neatly displayed in a quality Elbe album with plastic inter-leaving and quadrille pages. This collection consists mainly of 3c Small Queens, but when one could not be located, another stamp was used to illustrate the postmark. The collection is arranged in the same order as the handbook, with a space (mount) available for every reported time mark or hammer, etc., and all provinces and types are represented. It is important to note that there is no duplication in this extensive collection, as the collector searched for the best possible example of every town time mark, indicia errors, colour postmarks and sometimes ERD. We counted 700 different stamps plus 10 covers or cards. The last part of the album depicts all of the proof strikes for the squared circle hammers. Quite a lovely collection which is sure to please the most discriminating collector, or have loads of useful material for dealers. Our online scans only show a small portion, so in-person viewing is highly recommended. See also 68 photos on our website. Ex. Don Fraser collection. Estimate C$2,000, sold for C$6,200.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
