Lot 742 Newfoundland #C5 1930 50c on 30c Columbia Flight Surcharge, mint never hinged, fresh and fine-very fine. A lovely example of this stamp, with only 300 having been surcharged, of which 100 were used on cover and probably very few of the remaining 200 are this fresh and especially never hinged. Accompanied by a 2013 Greene Foundation certificate stating that it is from position 3 (lower left) of the overprint setting. Unitrade CV$18,000.

Lot 674 Newfoundland #9 1857 1sh scarlet vermilion Heraldic Imperforate, unused (no gum), with four clear to large margins, close at bottom right. A lovely stamp with bright, fresh colour, very fine. Accompanied by a 1989 Greene Foundation certificate stating “thin at bottom and stain at lower right”. In our opinion, the thin is extremely small. There is, however a very small repaired crease at bottom right, not mentioned in the certificate. Ex. Robert Pratt. Unitrade CV$35,000.

Lot 39 Canada #10 1857 6d reddish purple Consort Imperforate on Very Thick Fibrous Soft Paper, used with 4-ring #19 (London) cancel. Three large margins, clear at top and showing a few letters of the printer’s imprint at bottom right, very fine. Accompanied by a 1959 B.P. A. and a 2011 Greene Foundation certificate.
