Franked with two 2c Edward and a 1c Admiral, for 5c. A bit roughly opened at top, still a very rare destination in any period. Estimate $200, sold for C$400 plus buyer’s premium.

Lot 19 Canada #4d 1852 3d orange red Beaver Imperforate, on Thin Paper, used with target cancel. Four large and even margins, bright colour and extremely fine. There is an owner’s handstamp on back. A lovely stamp, accompanied by a 2016 Greene Foundation certificate. Unitrade CV$300, sold for C$325 plus buyer’s premium.

Lot 472 Canada #FWS2 1918 $5 green War Savings stamp on War Savings Certificate, English Inscription. van Dam catalogues the used stamp at $1,000 then goes on to say that the $5 stamp is rare on document. Sold for C$2,400 plus buyer’s premium.

An interesting one that sold for our full estimate.
Lot 99 Canada 35/39 1880s 1c to 6c Small Queens with Unofficial Overprints, with diagonal OFFICIAL overprints on 3c, 5c (faulty and repaired) and 6c, plus vertical OFFICIAL overprints on 1c to 6c values, for a total of eight used stamps. Apparently created by Hechler to be used during the Riel Rebellion, these were not authorized but were tolerated by the postal authorities. Scarce. Estimate C$350, Sold for C$300 plus buyer’s premium.
