Lot 142 Canada #63 1897 $3 Yellow Bistre Jubilee, mint never hinged, with superb centering among four large and even margins, colour is deep and rich, an extremely fine stamp in all respects. Certainly one of the finest examples known, catalogue value irrelevant.
Accompanied by a 1988 Greene Foundation certificate and a 2022 PSE certificate grading it as “XF-Sup 95”. This is the highest graded $3 Jubilee with no other at this grade. SMQ U$11,400. Unitrade CV$6,000.
Lot 37 Canada #9a 1857 7½d Deep Green Queen Victoria Imperforate, mint with full original gum, lightly hinged. The stamp has deep, fresh colour and four large margins, showing part of the plate imprint at bottom, extremely fine. An exceptional quality stamp, with tremendous eye appeal and surely one of the nicest examples of this stamp with full original gum. A stamp sure to please even the most discriminating collector.
