Lot 1265, Bermuda 1882 cover Hamilton to Flatts with one pence pale rose, on page with additional material

lot-1265Lot 1265 Bermuda 1882 cover, Hamilton to Flatts, mailed at Hamilton (blue OCT.28.1882 #1 duplex), franked with a 1d pale rose QV (small fault) and addressed to Villa Monticello in Flatts Bermuda, with black duplex #13 receiver (catalogue # K3a) on back. Intra-Island mail is very rare from this period, and this is a very nice example, with two fairly clear postmarks. The owner (Geoff Newman) paid $1,700 for this cover in 2009. The cover is presented on a well written-up page which also includes two different stamps with a #13 duplex (catalogue #K1) as well as another with a nice #15 (catalogue #K3a). The cover is accompanied by a 1980 B.P.A. certificate. Estimate C$1,000.

Partial plate inscription at bottom reads “937A.” Overall very fine, with left stamp being extremely fine never hinged (and catalogues $3,000 by itself). Accompanied by a 2015 Greene Foundation certificate. A rare plate multiple, especially this nice. Unitrade CV C$5,000.

Lot 681Lot 681 Rhodesia #104/118 1910 Queen Mary and King George V Double Heads, clandestine printing, roulette perforations group, with six different: 2½d, 3d, 3sh, 5sh, 10sh and £1. Three values with sheet selvedge at right nicely showing the rouletting. Seldom seen and not listed in Scott or SG. All mint hinged, some disturbed gum, else fresh and fine to very fine. Estimate C$1,000.
