Lot 312 Falkland Islands #65S-76S 1933 ½d to £1 Set Perforated SPECIMEN, the full iconic King George V set for the Centenary of British Administration. All are fresh mint and never hinged, with no trace of blemishes nor toning on the gum. Overall very fine centering (a few are fine-very fine). Archive records indicate 473 sets were perforated SPECIMEN, very few of which are in private hands, making these much scarcer than the regular set. Scott Classic catalogue value is for a set of hinged SPECIMEN overprints only. S.G. catalogue value of £4,250 is for a hinged perforated set. Scott CV U$4,500, sold for C$4000 plus buyer’s premium.
