Lot 725 Canada #FSC30b 1897 $1 Blue Queen Victoria Law Stamp with Red and Purple In Prize Overprints, mint hinged and fine centered. An extremely rare stamp, the first we have handled. The control number on this stamp is in the recorded range of known In Prize overprints, and Zaluski explains that these were first handstamped in purple, but because the handstamp was not as visible on blue stamps, a second red handstamp was used.
