Issues, with 35 covers total, with a good range of different frankings, with singles, pairs and a few combinations. We note a good variety of better postmarks as well, noting Little Bay Island, Burnt Bay, Kingsbridge, Greenspond, Twillingate, Trepassy, two covers with #235 in grid cancel, etc. Destinations include inland, to Canada, to Nova Scotia, to the US and to England and there are many correct single frankings. A few are reduced at one side, noted two fronts and others with faults, still an interesting and overall fine or better group. All covers scanned online. Estimate $400, sold for C$1,000.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 702 Newfoundland #28 12c pale red brown Queen Victoria on two 1871 Covers, and both addressed to the same person in Poole, England. One went Fogo to Twillingate to Poole and the other went Fogo to Twillingate to St. John’s to Halifax to Queenstown to Liverpool to Poole. Both covers have a London c.d.s. of July 1st 1871 on back. Both covers are presented on a written-up page and are accompanied by 2002 APS certificates. Minor faults, still very fine and interesting. Unitrade CV$400, sold for C$425 plus buyer’s premium.

Lot 565, Newfoundland 1872 twelve cent pale red brown on cover to Liverpool, sold for $264Lot 565 Newfoundland #28 1872 12c pale red brown Queen Victoria cover to England, mailed at Twillingate on MAR.9.1872 (nice black c.d.s. on front), with St John’s transit c.d.s. on back APR.15.1872 and reached Liverpool via British Packet on MAY.19.1872. Few edge creases and minor corner faults, stamp is a real jumbo (with small faults), else a very fine cover. Accompanied by a 2002 APS certificate not mentioning the small faults. Unitrade CV$200, sold for C$230 plus buyer’s premium.
