Lot 461 Fiji #MR1a 1916 ½d Green King George V with Inverted WAR STAMP Overprint, a mint never hinged single with sheet margin at left, very fine and quite scarce, especially this nice. SG #25c, £550. Catalogue values are for hinged only. Scott CV U$700.
Lot 798 Canada #223ii 1935 10c Carmine Rose R.C.M.P. with “Broken Leg” Variety, mint never hinged with sheet margin at bottom, a wonderfully well centered stamp, with large margins and lovely freshness, extremely fine. An excellent stamp for the varieties collector or collector who only buys the very best quality. Rare in any condition and widely believed to be the finest recorded example of this popular variety.

Lot 446 Newfoundland #82a 1902 2c orange King Edward VII Imperforate Sheet Margin Strip of Three on Registered Cover, mailed Manuels, Newf’d (manuscript dated broken circle AUG.21.1902) and addressed to St. John’s (cds receiver on back), plus a few Railway T.P.O. cancels on front and back. Stamps are cut into at top, else a rare usage on a quite appealing cover. Very fine. Estimate $1,500, sold for $1,350 plus buyer’s premium.
