This is the better and scarcer black (mourning) cover, with the 10r stamp being sound (white area below it is a white area for affixing the stamp), very fine, rare and highly sought after. Rsv. Estimate C$3,500.

There is a full “FIVE” counter above stamp position one, and a small part printer’s imprint above position two. A very fresh and attractive block, with only 200 imperforate pairs recorded. Unitrade CV$4,500, sold for C$2,000 plus buyer’s premium.

Lot 332, New Brunswick 1859 six pence yellow green imperf pair on coverLot 332 New Brunswick #2 6d yellow green Heraldic Imperforate Horizontal Pair on 1859 cover mailed St Stephen (OCT.24.1859 dispatch on back) to St George NB, franked with a very fine pair of 6d imperforates (cancelled by fine strikes of the St Stephen NB numeral 30 in grid) paying the 12 pence registered rate within New Brunswick. Two creases do not affect stamps, and slightly reduced at top, else very fine. Ex. John Seybold (with his handstamps on back), Dale Liechtenstein, Koh and mentioned in Argenti on page 46. A world rarity with only three recorded, and accompanied by a 1974 BPA certificate. Estimate $6,000.
