Lot 217 Canada #J2 1906 2c Reddish Violet Postage Due with Type A Lathework, a mint single with sheet margin at left showing a lovely impression of the lathework. Very fine and scarce in this condition. Accompanied by a 2010 Greene Foundation certificate stating “NH” but we see evidence of previous hinging, and have catalogued it as such. Unitrade CV$2,500.

Lot 280 Czechoslovakia #B45, B46, B54 1919 Group of Three Austrian Postage Due Stamps Overprinted “POSTA CESKOSLOVENSKA 1919” all three are mint lightly hinged, with Scott #s B45 (with expert handstamp), B46 (with three expert handstamps) and B54 (with expert handstamp / signature plus a 1963 Philatelic Foundation certificate not mentioning the light crease). Lot 509 Australia #J1S-J20S 1902-04 First Two Sets of Postage Dues with Various SPECIMEN Overprints, with 44 stamps (missing a few values in range) all on two large sheets, with several strikes of “POSTES ET TELEGRAPHES / MADAGASCAR / COLLECTION DE BERNE” handstamps in red. There is a notation at bottom of first sheet reading “Quarante deux figurines postales / Certifié conforme” and signed by the “Directeur des Postes et Télégraphes”, second sheet similar except “Trois figurines…”. We note different SPECIMEN overprints, either serifed or non serifed, horizontal or vertical (reading up or down). There is another stamp on the first sheet, that of New South Wales Scott #108 (specimen overprint catalogues $52). A great group, likely unique and a must have for any serious Australia collector. Lot 1562 United States Mostly Mint Strong Back of the Book Collection, all on Mystic pages, starts with Semi-Postals, then airmails with #s C1-C150 complete mint, mostly hinged before the 1930s (Zepps are lightly hinged), then NH to the end; Special Delivery E1-E23 complete (with extra shades, etc, E1 has no gum, E2-3 have small faults, E4 is used); very fine never hinged #F1; Postage Due first two sets just missing one stamp (mixed mint and used), 1891 set mint to the 10c, 50% complete mint from 1894 to 1917, complete 1930 to 1985; Parcel Post #Q1-Q12 complete mint with many extras; Special Handling QE1-QE4 complete mint with extras; Parcel Post Postage Dues JQ1-JQ5 complete mint.
