We note a good variety of rates and usages including several single use, a great variety of postmarks including many small towns, many registered, a few first flights, corner card covers and more. Overall fine or better, with the odd fault here and there. All covers are scanned online. Estimate $250, sold for C$550.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
Lot 733 Newfoundland #131/139 group of covers franked with the 1923-24 Pictorial Issues, with 23 covers in all, including frankings of the 1c to 5c values plus one 10c. We counted six registered covers, four short paid covers (two have American dues stamps), one picture postcard, some postmark interest and a number of other interesting items. Overall fine to very fine with the odd fault, all are scanned online. Estimate $100, sold for C$675.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
Lot 1194 Canada #243-245 1941 Pictorial Issue Registered AR Censored Cover to China, mailed Vancouver on DEC.1.1941 to Shanghai, China, franked with a pair of 20c, a 50c and a $1 Pictorials paying $1,90 (for postage, registration and AR fee) with unusual JAN.19.1942 blue oval Ottawa censorship datestamp on back and no Chinese receiver. Slightly reduced at right, still overall very fine. Estimate C$150.
