Among several other interesting items we noted the 1958 Heroes Monument souvenir sheet ** Scott #344a (CV $275), two copies of the Flowers set Scott #542-59 used (CV $120 each), the Mountains set Scott #716-31 (CV $206), many of the valuable Chairman Mao Speeches sets 1966-67 including Scott #957-9 used (CV$490). Not to be overlooked is the North East China section with the Chairman Mao with flag set Scott #1L37-40 (CV $170) among other valuable sets. Faults noted on some, see scans for a sample. Lot 1386, People's Republic of China collection, sold for C$1,053Lot 1386 China (People’s Republic) Mint and Used Collection in a Stanley Gibbons Devon Album, a lovely and clean collection which starts with People’s Republic of China (mostly used to 1966, then there is a gap, then mint hinged from 1973 to 1978, with many sets and part sets, catalogued at $1,873), followed by the second half of the album, which holds a fairly extensive section of China, Republic of China and Provinces, both mint and used (often both) with hundreds of stamps (these not catalogued). Overall very fine and worthy of a close look. Estimate $750, sold for C$900.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
