Lot 723 Newfoundland #3 1858 3d Triangular on Cover, mailed from Bona Vista (SEP.6.1858 c.d.s. on back) to Carbonear (receiver on front) and franked with a large margined 3d imperforate (showing two neighboring stamps) just tied by pen cancel to small cover with red wax seal on backflap. Vertical creases and staining, still a scarce franking and fine cover with a catalogue value of $3,000 in Unitrade. Estimate $500, sold for C$1,250.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
