Lot 281, Canada 1982-88 Heritage Artifacts Issue design material, Jean Morin archives, sold for C$994Lot 281 Canada #917/1083 Extensive Group of Material Relating to the Design Production of the 1982-1988 1c to 72c Heritage Artifacts Definitives, includes a thick binder with extensive project notes by Mr. Morin, project correspondence, photocopies of various heritage objects considered for inclusion, photocopies of various design proposals at all project phases, original film and slides of initial definitive proposals, sets of design-sized and stamp-sized colour proposals, sets of original photos used in the stamp designing, some signed by photographer and designer, original mock-ups for various proposals, photographic essays, a smaller binder full of plate blocks (Scott 917-922) signed by designer (Jean Morin) and photographer (Jean-Pierre Beaudin), many plate blocks of all the values signed by the designer, complete sheets on Abitibi and Rolland papers (Scott 917-921) signed by Jean Morin, two sets of complete sheets (Scott 927, 929 and 932) signed by the designers, and much more. Lot 289, Canada c. 1970 200c unissued Youth Design, production essaysLot 289 Group of c.1970 200c yellow red and black Youth Unissued Design Production Essays, includes perforated stamp sized essay on thin card, a large colour deluxe proof showing an enlarged stamp image and a stamp size image (different than the one we offered in our May 2010 sale), a large deluxe proof of the same in red only and missing the black inscriptions, a large colour essay with perforations mounted on plastic film, and a large portfolio sheet printed by the designers at their Montreal design office in 2019. Five items in all, each signed by their two designers Jean Morin and Yvon Laroche. The design is that of the son of Jean-Pierre Beaudin (who worked with Jean Morin), and was to be used for a Youth issue in relation to the 1970 Osaka exhibition. The picture was used in the Canadian Youth pavilion at the exhibition. Estimate C$500.

Lot 290, Canada 1970 Natural Resources definitives production essays

Lot 290 Group of c.1970 Unissued 1c to 20c Natural Resources Definitive Issues Production Essays, with a set of the seven values (1c, 2c, 4c, 5c, 6c, 10c and 20c) in large deluxe die essays showing two images of the proposed stamp, in stamp size and enlarged, each in a different colour (the 1c has a stain at bottom). The same seven values are present in an enlarged size with perforations, all in the proposed colours, each mounted on a larger plastic film. The same seven values (in the proposed colours) are presented on large portfolio sheet printed by the designers at their Montreal design office in 2019. Also in the same format are two sheets showing stamp positioning formats. Last but not least is a perforated stamp-sized essay in green and black on thin card. All items in this lot (except the last item described) are signed by their two designers Jean Morin and Yvon Laroche. The project was titled “Projet d’une série de timbres sur les richesses naturelles du Canada” and therefore the 10c depicts fish and the 20c depicts trees. Estimate C$1,000.
