Lot 1272, Kingston fancy 9 cancel on 1870 one cent orange Small Queen Registered cover to WindsorLLot 1272 Kingston Fancy 9 on 1870 Registered Cover, mailed Kingston on APR.29.1870 registered to Sandwich, with Windsor transit, G.W.R. transit (RR65) and Grand Trunk Railway East A (RR53) transit as well as two REGISTERED railway boxed postmarks (incomplete) on back. The cover is franked with a pair of the 1c orange SQ plus a very fine 3c copper red, all cancelled by three very fine strikes of the #9 in cogwheel fancy cancel (Lacelle #119). Reduced at left, still a very fine early Small Queen cover. Estimate C$200.

Mailed on JAN.4.1884 (cds) and franked with three 1c Small Queens, each cancelled by a cogwheel fancy cancel (Lacelle No.1495) with (fuzzy but identifiable next day Fish Creek C.W. broken circle receiver on back. Very fine. Estimate $100, sold for $150 plus buyer’s premium.
