Lot 1265, Bermuda 1882 cover Hamilton to Flatts with one pence pale rose, on page with additional material
Lot 1265 Bermuda 1882 cover, Hamilton to Flatts, mailed at Hamilton (blue OCT.28.1882 #1 duplex), franked with a 1d pale rose QV (small fault) and addressed to Villa Monticello in Flatts Bermuda, with black duplex #13 receiver (catalogue # K3a) on back. Intra-Island mail is very rare from this period, and this is a very nice example, with two fairly clear postmarks. The owner (Geoff Newman) paid $1,700 for this cover in 2009. The cover is presented on a well written-up page which also includes two different stamps with a #13 duplex (catalogue #K1) as well as another with a nice #15 (catalogue #K3a). The cover is accompanied by a 1980 B.P.A. certificate. Estimate C$1,000.
