We begin our sale today at 1:00pm, with Canada and BNA. The Hillside Collection of Admirals is drawing a lot of attention. And this item from the Numeral Issue of Canada will do well:

Lot 16 — Canada #4 used block of four with 4-ring #21 from Montreal

Our 13th Public Auction begins tomorrow. Despite some delays in catalogue delivery, we are seeing steady bids on impressive items. Here’s one of classic Canada that is poised to do well in the first few minutes of the sale:

Margins are large (showing parts of next stamp at bottom left) to just into at top right and bottom right. The stamps are from positions 77/78 and 87/88. A very rare block, and catalogue value is irrelevant. Ex-Cantor. Estimate $2,000.

Lot 1124Lot 1124 US #294a 1901 1c green and black Fast Lake Navigation with Inverted Center, mint with hinged original gum, fine centering. Accompanied by 2008 Philatelic Foundation certificate stating “…genuine, with disturbed o.g., a tiny corner perforation crease at top right, and a small corner crease at bottom left.” Scott CV$ 12,500.
