From the 1c brown to the $1 carmine rose, this is one of the most meticulous collections we have seen, with all of the major tagging varieties and some errors, coil start and end strips, precancels, plate blocks, misperforated stamps (1c, 4c, 5c, 6c black, 8c), 6c orange with fluorescent ink (mint block of four and used on piece) and a 6c orange stamp used in a Police investigation related to thefts of stamps in the Winnipeg area, overprinted “5959” with fluorescent handstamp. We saw booklet panes, imperforate coils (6c orange, 7c, 8c), a Canadian Bank Note test coil imperforate pair, and a group of Gregory Prosser “forgery” engravings of the higher-denomination stamps, done by him in the 1990s. Rounding out the collection are the six major varieties of $1 carmine rose plate blocks, including a matched set of the HB, DEX without inscriptions (c.v. $1,000). This would take considerable time to assemble and is well worth the starting bid. Overall fine to very fine or better, and a tremendous opportunity. Estimate C$4,000 | $2,800.00 |
