Lot 190 Canada #387a 1959 5c St Lawrence Seaway with Inverted Centre, mint never hinged, fresh and very fine, without any finger print marks sometimes found on these desirable stamps. Accompanied by a 1997 Greene Foundation Certificate. Unitrade CV$12,500, sold for $9,000 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
Lot 191 Canada #387a 1959 5c St Lawrence Seaway with Inverted Centre, a used sheet margin single, with the usual machine cancel, very fine. Unitrade values used stamps for less than mint, yet they consistently sell for much more, as they are rarer, and this sheet margin copy is sure to please. Accompanied by a 2015 Greene Foundation Certificate. Unitrade CV$10,000, sold for $4,800 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
