Lot 27, Canada 1858 six pence reddish purple Consort on cross-border coverLot 27 Canada #10 6d Reddish Purple Consort Imperforate on Very Thick Soft Paper on Cross-Border Cover, mailed from Port Colborne UC on AUG.9.1858 to Madison County, New York. This cover is franked with a lovely and very fine 6d Consort imperforate on thick paper, with four large to huge margins (showing next stamp at bottom), tied by a neat target in red. Still contains its original three page, very well written letter. The cover has repaired tears on back, still very fine appearance and this stamp is quite scarce with any red postmark, plus it is not very common on cover. Ex. Daniel Cantor collection (2011), and the Outaouais Collection. Accompanied by a 1998 Greene Foundation certificate. Unitrade $10,000, sold for $5,000 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
