We note a great variety of material, including airmail (some of those with Airmail stamps), first flights, Royal Train covers, couple of E3 single frankings, cross border, postage due, corner card, a C4 FDC, etc., as well as good postmark interest, noting smaller towns, duplex and much more. We counted seven oversize covers, one front and some that have creases, opening or other faults, etc., still overall very fine and a great lot for the special delivery collector or dealer. Estimate C$250, sold for C$1,000.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

The sender of this cover obviously recognized the importance of this occasion by preparing the two covers offered in this sale (see previous lot for the other one). Prior to the discovery of the two covers offered in this sale, the earliest recorded use of this stamp was July 2, 1898.
